SFBP #36 Three for Three LookBook

Hey Bike Partiers! Happy New Year!  Are you excited for the very first SFBP of 2014? Well, we’re going three for three! Join us January 3rd for our 3rd birthday!

For 3 years now, we’ve powered through the streets of San Francisco with your help, pulling music bikes and dancing hard to celebrate the pedal-powered revolution. Join us for our biggest birthday yet, as we trace our inaugural SFBP route and celebrate life on two wheels (or one, or three, or more, whatever fits your fancy). Wear your best and brightest birthday gear, because it’s our party and we’ll ride if we want to! We are so thrilled to be turning 3 and can’t wait to celebrate with you! Ding Ding!

Bring some balloons, why don’t you?

And make some noise!

Make sure to wrap our presents in festive bicycle wrapping paper,

Make sure to wrap our presents in festive bicycle wrapping paper,

Party hats are encouraged.

And of course, don’t forget your bike!

If you bring cupcakes, we will eat them.

Meet us on Friday, January 3rd, at Civic Center at 7:30pm.  We roll at 8:00!  We wouldn’t be celebrating our third birthday if you didn’t keep coming back each month, bringing friends and music and so much fun to our party every time, so thank you, thank you, thank you! The best present you can give us this year is your company, so dust off your dancing shoes and let’s make it great!

SFBP #35 Winter in Wonderland LookBook

RAIN UPDATE: Hi Bike Partiers! The weather is looking frightful for our trip down the rabbit hole on Friday. For the sake of safety (SAFETY FIRST) we will let you know if we have to  raincheck our December BP. Look out for an update on this space by 5:00pm on Friday. Don’t be late for high tea by the fire! It’s winter in wonderland, and the red queen is after your head. We are going down the rabbit hole, and we are bringing our bikes! SFBP #33: Favorite Childhood Toys LookBook

We all know our favorite toys now that we are grown-ups are our bikes, but when were kids we had lots more time to play. This month, we’re bringing a bit of whimsy to the party with our theme. Reach back into the archives and pull out your G.I. Joes, your pogs, your rubber duckies and your baseball gloves, it’s time to play with your favorite childhood toys. Whether you liked princesses or pogo sticks, we all remember that one thing we thought we’d never be able to live without. Times have changed, but it’s never too late to embrace your inner child.  Here are some of our favorites to get your gears turning.  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

In 1943, Charles B. Hall became the first black fighter pilot to down an enemy aircraft. Hall was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his valor in this World War II action. His squadron presented him with its own reward, a chilled bottle of Coke, a precious commodity in the Mediterranean theater. Hall was a member of the 99th Fighter Squadron.

SFBP #29 Musical Icons Recap

Musical Icons indeed! You all really brought the noise and the funk with your fantastic costumes for our June ride.  As always, we love to see everyone embracing the theme.  If you have ideas for future themes, please don’t hesitate to let us know via Facebook, Twitter or comments here on the blog.

What did you all think of the ride?  We were so excited to head up to Coit Tower on an absolutely beautiful night.  The ride from Civic Center was full of great outfits and happy riders as we pedaled up Polk Street and took a cross town trip on picturesque Pacific.  Did you catch those views of the Bay Lights once we crested Russian Hill? As always, many thanks to the volunteers who came out for test rides and helped out by taking turns and directing traffic during the ride. We appreciate you so much!

The final ascent up to Coit Tower was a little steep, but once we got there folks were ready to take in the glorious sunset views and get their party on.  Thanks to DJ Deep, we had awesome tunes on the parking lot dance floor. We love to see everyone partying like rock stars!

Unfortunately, we did hear a report that a bike was stolen from the Coit Tower party stop. Please keep in mind that you should never leave your bike unattended at party stops.  Bring a lock with you or ask a friend to keep an eye on your bike while you get your dance on. The city parks we party in are public spaces and are not inherently safe from theft.

After Coit Tower we made our way down Telegraph hill towards the Embarcadero and enjoyed the flat wide streets and beautiful views of the bay lights as we rolled south towards AT&T park.  A last minute decision to finish the party in an AT&T park overflow lot was a good one, and we had plenty of space to get our dance on under the lights. Shout outs to Lily, who was celebrating a birthday and her Bachelorette party with us at SFBP, and is getting married in August.  Congratulations Lily, we’re so stoked that you wanted to celebrate with us! And to @BikePretty who was also celebrating her birthday by riding with us. We hope it was a good one, girl!

As always, we had a wonderful time riding with you.  Thanks for continuing to bring the fun to SFBP month after month.  If you want even more recap, check out the stellar review we received recently from Thanks, Bermstyle! We’re so glad you enjoyed the ride! We’ll be back at you on Friday, July 5th with our next Bike Party.  The theme is Robot Revolution!  More info on that to come in our LookBook.  Meet us at the Conservatory of Flowers at 7:30pm, we roll at 8:00!
