SFBP #22 Hardly Strictly Bike Party Lookbook

Won’t you ride beside me darling
So I don’t have to feel so alone
Ride that bike all through the night
When that bike party horn begins to blow!
(Lyrics adapted from “Mean Old Wind” by Kris Delmhorst)

It’s our favorite weekend in San Francisco! (Well, besides The SF Bike Expo, and The Bicycle Music Festival, and Pedal Fest, and Tour de Fat… you get the idea) Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is finally here! To celebrate our love of all things HSB (because, let’s face it, it’s free music in Golden Gate Park during San Francisco’s warmest season, what’s not to love?), we are taking the festival to the streets, 2 wheels at a time.  Here are some ideas to get you as excited as we are!  Cowboy boots, 10 gallon hats, overalls, rodeo clowns and ukelele playing are strongly encouraged.  We can’t wait to see you on Friday October 5th!  Meet us at the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park at 7:30pm.  We roll at 8:00!

Bring your bluegrass bike!

Banjos welcome (and strongly encouraged)

Dogs who like banjos are also welcome

Throw a string quintet on your bike trailer! This is the Montana Slim String Band, but any quintet will do!

No Bike Party is complete without a mini banjo!

Any musical instrument in your bike trailer is a plus, really.

Come dressed as your favorite Bluegrass band! If you don’t have one yet, The Defibulators (seen above) are a great choice!

Buckethead was a highlight of last year’s festival, dress up like him and you’re sure to steal the show!

Look at my heart march in this one woman band!

How come routes are hardly ever published here anymore.
Are they suppose to be a secret now?

Definitely not a secret, just an oversite. We always post our routes to Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus, and we will try to be better about making sure the routes are posted here as well. Thanks for the reminder and sorry for the confusion. Hope to see you tomorrow night. Ding Ding!

Thanks to the volunteers that make this happen.
If there is going to be a ride this Friday can you please post the theme and route here?
I’m not on fb and this page is most helpful.
