Due to hazardous weather conditions, we have decided to cancel our ride tonight.  We know you were excited to ride with us but safety for all our riders is always our main concern.  We’ll look forward to seeing you in February.

It’s our birthday! Can you believe we are already 7 years old?! Time flies when you are having fun! Join us for our annual exaltation of all things “Bike” and “Party”! To celebrate we will be selling off our 2016 T-shirts at the deep discount of $5.00 each and donating all the funds to http://undocufund.org/ a group helping undocumented victims of the NorCal fires. Please arrive a little early to meeting point if you’re interested in purchasing a T-shirt. We will also be selling the shirts at the party stops! Meet us at Civic Center at 7:30pm on Friday, January 5th.  We roll at 8:00!

SFBP #79: Rave for Peace

Hearts pumping, legs jumping, bass dropping…SFBP is raving for peace. Bring your bike and your party because we’ll be partying for peace in the world. It’s a rave all around the Bay this month, as our sister events East Bay Bike Party and San Jose Bike Party will be raving in their towns as well! Start it off right with us! Meet on Friday September 1st in Union Square at 7:30pm. We can’t wait for the beat to drop!

SFBP #71 Birthday Ride: First Day of School

WOW YOU GUYS!  We are turning six!  Can you believe it? We’re old enough to be in the first grade.  So we thought it would be fun dress for the occasion.  Please come in  your best first grade attire.  You’re a big kid now, so you pick out your own clothes!  Whether you feel like dressing  your best for your first day debut, or you want to impress your friends on picture day, we know you’ll look the part.  And since it’s our birthday, festive attire is never frowned upon.  Whatever you do, remember to BIKE PARTY!

SFBP #67 Biking Man Lookbook

Did you know Burning Man had its humble but wild beginnings at San Francisco’s own Baker Beach? Did you also know that bikes play a huge part of life on the Playa? In honor of Burning Man taking place during Bike Party, and maybe because some of us wish we could be part of the festivities, we will revisit the birthplace of Burning Man on our bikes!

Light up your bikes, Radically Self-express and don’t be a Darkwad. Actively engage with this event that is a Gift from your Community. Participate as a volunteer, ride Responsibly, be Radically Self-Reliant, and Leave No Trace!

This theme is geared towards bikes and lights, so make sure to come lit up like a disco ball!

Meet us at the Panhandle basketball courts at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 2nd.  We roll into the ether at 8:00! Baker Beach will be one of the stops on our route though we’re not sure which one yet…stay tuned!

SFBP #66: White Wedding LookBook

What’s the one thing usually missing from all the weddings you’ll attend this summer? Bikes! It’s wedding season and we’re busting out the white lace, tulle, and ruffles for a Bike Party you won’t soon forget! Unlike Billy Idol’s classic, we’ll be bringing bikes to this wedding! Billy Idol rocked last year’s Outside Lands and this Bike Party will coincide with the first day of the festival.

We are working on a route that allows folks to attend both Bike Party and Outside Lands…more to come on that!

Friendly reminder that SF Bike Party is a volunteer run, community based event. We ask our participants to be radically self reliant and come prepared. This means that your bike should be in good working order, equipped with brakes, lights and fully inflated wheels. Extra tubes and bike tools are always a plus, as you never know when you might get a flat. While Bike Party aims to leave no rider behind, we are not always able to provide bicycle maintenance, supplies or tools in the event of a mechanical failure.

SFBP #59: Welcome to the Dollhouse

Welcome to the dollhouse! We’ve got fun and games…and toys galore! Whether you’re more Dawn Weiner or Barbie Girl, there is something for everyone in our bag of tricks this year. Show us what’s in your dollhouse by dressing up as a Creepy Baby Doll, a misplaced GI Joe, tiny furniture, or anything else that decks your halls. Dollhouse of horrors? Alien invasion? You tell us.

Whatever you do, make sure to bring 1 new, unwrapped gift for our toy drive. That’s right, for the 3rd year in a row, we will be collecting toys at Bike Party and donating them to the SF Firefighters Toy Program http://sf-fire.org/sf-firefighters-toy-program-0 Tis the season, y’all! Donation suggestions include:

1. Sports Equipment- Basketballs, Footballs, Soccer balls, Baseballs and gloves
